JFed Security’s mission is to ensure Jews can live safely and proudly at all times. We achieve this through comprehensive security services, expert training, and vital intelligence support, made possible by our generous partners and donors.
Our Mission & Founding
JFed Security was founded in 2021 in response to the alarming rise in antisemitism and hate speech, and is dedicated to safeguarding Jewish communities and beyond.
In 2024 alone, the Anti-Defamation League recorded 9,354 antisemitic incidents across the United States, the highest number on record since it began tracking these incidents over 40 years ago.

What We Do
JFed Security offers a multi-faceted approach to safeguarding Jewish communities, encompassing a range of vital services.
Protecting a Vast Community
JFed Security’s current Area of Responsibility (AOR) covers over 223,000 Jewish individuals across six of the nine Jewish Federations in New Jersey and the entire state of Delaware.
Empowering Through Training
We offer various essential trainings, including Stop the Bleed, Situational Awareness, BLS/CPR, Usher/Greeting Training.

In the past two years, the JFed Security team has conducted over 100 in-person training sessions for over 6,200 individuals.
On-Site Protection
We provide dedicated guard services at synagogues, JCCs, day schools, and summer day camps within our AOR.
Intelligence & Proactive Security
JFed Security’s Intelligence Unit provides proactive safety support by vetting individuals and incidents, sharing timely information with security staff and authorities. Our team also builds strong partnerships with law enforcement and community partners through collaborative planning.
Specialized Dignitary Protection
JFed Security Services provides specialized protection at high-profile events throughout the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware area.

Our Leadership Team
The JFed Security team is composed of experienced law enforcement professionals dedicated to guiding our organization with integrity, strategic vision, and a commitment to excellence.
Bud Monaghan
Executive Director
Bud Monaghan is the Executive Director of JFed Security and leads the regional community-based security model across New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
Monaghan is deeply committed to professional growth and collaboration, actively fostering strong partnerships on behalf of JFed Security with municipal, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. His approach emphasizes trust, transparency, and shared responsibility to enhance public safety and protect the Jewish communities in JFed Security’s Area of Responsibility.
A retired Chief of the Cherry Hill Police Department, Monaghan served for 26 years in various roles, including Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain, before becoming Chief. He has been recognized for his commitment to service and has received honors such as the Golden Sun Award, NAACP Visionary Leader Award, and the Flame of Inspiration Award. In 2020, he was appointed to the New Jersey Commission on Human Trafficking by Governor Phil Murphy.
